Q2005 April 7, 2005 NIACC Vocal Music Department Celebrates Quodlibet’s 30th Year North Iowa Area Community College’s Vocal Music Department will present their 30th annual spring show, Quodlibet 2005. This year’s program features the music from the new legends of Broadway, Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Fantastic numbers will include Send in the Clowns, Comedy Tonight, Don’t Cry for Me Argentina, Jesus Christ Superstar and numbers from The Phantom of the Opera. Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, April 17 at 3:00 p.m.; and Monday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. In addition, this year there will be a free matinee performance for area middle and junior high schools with over 1,100 students planning to attend. Fresh off their performance in The Candlelight Christmas Extravaganza, the show choir "NIACC Singers" will also be featured in the program. This select ensemble features 34 singers from 15 different communities around Iowa. After Quodlibet, the group will be traveling to California and Mexico with performances scheduled at Disneyland and aboard Carnival Cruise lines. "Our show this semester is a lot of fun, featuring Anything Goes, Ain’t She Sweet, Ma He’s Making Eyes at Me and Let’s Misbehave," Jayson Ryner, the groups director, said. "We also will feature My Boyfriend’s Back and Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance) by the women and men respectively." The show is completed by feature performances by soloists and small groups. Popular numbers will include Billy Joel’s hit, Piano Man, Why Haven’t I Heard From You, and Fever.
