Want a College Head Start?

Students at FCHS and WCLT have an opportunity to get a head start on college through Tech Prep programs.  This year, 300 juniors and seniors from schools across North Iowa are taking advantage of these innovative educational opportunities available through school partnerships with NIACC.

On March 29, FCHS and WCLT students and their parents are invited to attend Taste of Tech Night at their choice of Tech Prep Academy locations:

Automotive Service Technology Academy, Clear Lake High School cafeteria

Health Careers Academy, Hancock County Memorial Hospital cafeteria

Information Technology Academy, Garner-Hayfield High School cafeteria

This informational event kicks off at each of the academies with a complimentary meal at 6:30 p.m.  Students and their parents will see the Academy classrooms and labs, meet the instructors, and hear from current students.  Time for questions will be provided.

Through Tech Prep, students can earn up to a year of college credit, at no cost to themselves, by the time they graduate from high school

If you plan to attend Taste of Tech Night, call FCHS Student Services Coordinator Dennis McDonald, 585-2324, or WCLT Student Services Coordinator Kerry Kahler, 565-3211, by March 23 to make your reservations.
