My name is (NAME) and I (WORK/TEACH) at North Iowa Area Community College.  During my time here, I’ve seen an incredible cross section of students succeed at our school.  I’ve seen high school students who are taking community college math and science classes to help prepare them for the rigors of college.  And I’ve seen laid off workers who came back to college in hopes of earning a better living for their families.

Most of these students end up staying in Iowa after they graduate from a community college.  In order to continue the vital role community colleges must play in the State of Iowa’s economic recovery, you must support community colleges in your work in the Iowa Legislature.

Whether I’m working with students on campus or out in the communities, I witness the difference North Iowa Area Community College makes in the lives of North Iowans.  If business employees or displaced workers need training, our community college provides it.  If parents want a quality education for their children at a reasonable price, our community college makes it accessible.   

As the Community Colleges of Iowa experience enrollment increases due to displaced workers and new students needing regional education accessibility, it will become even more critical to support them in their mission.

We appreciate your support for our community colleges and ask you to continue to do so in the upcoming legislative session.
