As you may have heard, Governor Culver has implemented a 10% across-the-board cut in the State of Iowa. Community colleges have been hit hard by this reduction in funding. In addition to this cut for the current fiscal year, the outlook for next year’s budget remains dim as state legislators prepare to return to the State Capitol in January 2010.

Community colleges must serve as a key part of the solution to our economic crisis. To produce the greatest impact, we are asking you to please contact area legislators and share the importance of NIACC and other community colleges with them. The importance of these contacts cannot be overstated.
