NIACCAlerts is a free* service using "Rave Alert" to provide text message and e-mail notices to students and staff about campus closings due to weather, and other emergency announcements should there be a need to quickly notify the campus community of threats to the safety of students and staff.
The text messages come from 67283 or 226787

This service requires each user to log on and choose to receive broadcast text messages to the cell phone, and enter your cell phone number.

Getting Started with NIACCAlerts on Rave

Option 1:

If you received NIACCAlerts instructions in your NIACC e-mail:

1. Open the confirmation NIACCAlerts email ( it may come from no-reply@getrave.com)
2. Click the included link to continue the registration process.

In NIACC Alerts / Rave:
     1. Enter and re-enter your password.
     2. Enter and re-enter your cell phone number.
     3. Check “I Agree to Rave’s Terms of Use.”
     4. Enter your preferred email address ( this can be your NIACC or BVU e-mail address or another)
     5. Click Next.

From your cell phone:
1. Retrieve the 4-digit code Rave texts you - it may take several minutes.
(The text message comes from 67283 or 226787.)

In NIACC Alerts / Rave (Part 2):
1. Enter 4-digit code.
2. Click Finish.

Option 2:

If you have not received NIACCAlerts instructions in your NIACC or BVU e-mail you can still sign up for NIACCAlerts to receive emergency and weather related messages.
From your browser:
     1. Go to www.getrave.com/login/niacc on your computer.
     2. Click Join Now.
     3. You must use your NIACC email address. Make up a new password, different than the one that you use for NIACC e-mail. Enter your First Name, Last Name and Cell Phone number.
     4. Click the green Next button and continue to follow steps.
*BVU students and others can not sign up this way. You need to have a NIACC e-mail account to self-enroll.

Option 3:

If you are trying to Join and create a new account and get this message (see picture below):

This means that you already have an account on the NIACCAlerts system. (We upload NIACC and BVU student rosters and employee lists periodically.) With this account you will get emergency messages sent to your email address. To add your cell phone number for text messages follow these instructions:

1. Go back to the NIACCAlerts (Rave) login page and click the link to "Forgot Username or Password?" under the "Log In" button.
2. Enter your NIACC, BVU or IWD email address and click "Submit".
3. Instructions for logging in will be sent to your e-mail address. You will need to log in to your NIACC, BVU or IWD e-mail and follow the instructions to reset your password. The message may come from noreply@getrave.com.
4. Go back to NIACCAlerts and log in with your complete e-mail address as the username and the new password that you just set.
5. Click the "My Account" tab at the top and then enter your mobile phone number to receive text messages.
6. You will get a four digit code sent to your cell phone. When you get that code go back to the Rave page and enter the code that you received on your cell phone.

NIACC will only use this service for the purposes described and will not distribute cell phone numbers to third parties. The text messages will be sent by the NIACC President or a Vice President in an emergency situation. NIACC can not guarantee immediate delivery of emergency text or email messages. Timely delivery of text messages is controlled by the cell phone provider. In most cases the text messages are delivered within a few seconds. If you are getting delayed text messages to your cell phone please notify your cell phone provider.
