Course Description:
Study of organismic biology including organization, metabolism,
and reproduction of living systems. Includes evolutionary patterns,
inheritance, ecosystems, and structure-function relationships
among organisms. (45-0)
Equivalent to BIOL-101, 70-101.

Some of the exams in this course need to be taken at an approved "proctored" testing site such as the Student Learning Center at NIACC, a local library, Area Education Agency, or the Human Resources Office at your place of employment. Biological Principles 70:101 is a three semester hour introductory level biology course that is designed to familiarize the student with cellular structure and function, inheritance, evolution, human sensory perception, and plant and animal reproduction, nutrition, and transport. Students enrolled in an online section of Biological Principles will be required to complete numerous online quizzes as they study the course material and take four unit exams at a proctored location. The student will be responsible for arranging a suitable exam site (subject to approval by the instructor) such as a local library, school media center, Area Education Agency, or the employer's Human Resources office.Please note - This class may not be offered every term.
