Distance Learning Opportunities from NIACC
- Internet
- Online Web Classes
Dozens of NIACC courses are available online with the
potential to earn an AA or
ASB degree online. Lessons presented on the Internet
are supplemented by textbooks and other aids. There are also numerous non-credit
Continuing Education online courses available.
- ICN (Iowa
Communications Network)
NIACC courses offered via Iowa's fiber-optic interactive television network. Though it requires the student to travel a short distance from their home or
office, several NIACC classes are also offered via the Iowa Communications
Network (ICN) at convenient locations throughout North Iowa.
The ICN allows the instructor and students to see each other and communicate
easily despite the fact that the class may be originating from another part of
the state or even another part of the country (via satellite).
Several other colleges and universities offer upper level and graduate level college courses
across the region, expanding the educational opportunities to North Iowans.
