Course Description: Develop skills necessary to enter the job market and experience long-term career growth. Students learn basic job seeking techniques, job keeping skills, and strategies for continued growth.

Course Outline:
Unit 1: Career development theory, job seeking reference guides, and self assessment.
Unit 2: Abbreviated Resumes, Resumes, and Professional Portfolios.
Unit 3: Targeting potential employers, utilizing Internet resources, company research, informational interviews, and job shadowing.
Unit 4: Applying for a job, completing job applications, and writing a cover letters and other job related correspondence..
Unit 5: Interviewing skills, preparing , succeeding and following up after the interview.
Unit 6: Developing strategies for becoming a valuable employee; effective work habits and attitudes, continuing education, and updating skills.
Unit 7 : How and when to leave a job, change careers and prepare for future jobs.
