Audience: General

Purpose: A 48-hour emergency care course which emphasizes life-threatening emergencies, wounds, fractures, medical and environmental emergencies, and other emergency situations as outlined by the U.S. D.O.T.

College Credit: 2 Hours

Objectives: *Define the rescuer's emergency care role, legal rights and responsibilities relative to emergency care. *Demonstrate skill in patient assessment. *Demonstrate skill in techniques of basic emergency care for life-threatening emergencies, crash-related injuries, illnesses or conditions, and other emergencies that could be encountered in the rescuer's daily activities.

Fee: $483.36 (includes state practical test), based on North Iowa Area Community College tuition rates, plus textbook and state certifying test fee.
