Medication Aide

Location: McAllister Hall 104D, NIACC, Mason City

Description: Qualifies the aide to administer medications in long term care, residential care, nursing facilities, skilled nursing facilities, adult day care and assisted living. The student must meet the required pre-requisite prior to taking the class. Please bring verification copies of the following information to the first class.

Pre-requisites:

• Certified Nurse Aide on State Registry or Assisted Living Facility employment or Adult day Care.
• The student needs a letter of approval and participation from the facility in which they are employed.
• The student must have a minimum of 6 months work experience in the facility in which they are employed. Aptitude for reading, writing and mathematics are required. Clinical must be completed no later than 60 days after the end of classroom work.

Fee: $440.49 plus textbook.
