For students with no primary health care providers/insurance, you may contact Karen Pierson, Vice President for Student Services, at ext. 4003 for health care referrals.

Mercy Family Health Line (641/422-7777 or 1-800-468-0050) – This is a community service which is offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is staffed by an RN. The following services are provided: health information, physician referrals, community services and hospital services referrals.

Is it safe to eat pork and pork products?

Yes. Swine influenza viruses are not spread by food. You cannot get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork products is safe.
