Be the Majority is a one semester hour special problems credit offering that involves planning and implementing a program that utilizes a research-based media campaign approach. The purpose of this group is to address the on-going health and safety issues of high-risk drinking among the college population. This group is sponsored by the Youth Task Force, and is paid for by state and federal grants until 2013. The Fall semester involves a weekly meeting starting the second Tuesday of the semester, that consists of selecting a target population and planning the media program based on results from the CORE Survey. The second semester consists of the actual implementation of the program. A minimum of 15 contact hours are required for the optional one semester hour credit.
