NIACC has multiple delivery methods for online courses including ANGEL, ICCOC, Canvas, MyMath Lab and some text book publisher web sites.
ANGEL Learning Management System
NIACC uses the ANGEL Learning Management System for most (but not all) online courses taught by NIACC instructors. It is also used for many face-to-face courses.
NIACC online courses have a section number starting with a ‘W’ such as BIO-102-W001. Most (but not all) use ANGEL.
Spring semester 2016 will be the last semester that ANGEL is use by NIACC. All online and hybrid courses will be using Canvas starting in May of 2016.
Iowa Community College Consortium (ICCOC)
NIACC is also a member of the Iowa Community College Online Consortium (ICCOC), a group of seven colleges that partner to offer online courses. Instructors teaching ICCOC online courses will be at one of the other partner colleges. You will register for the courses at NIACC and they are considered to be NIACC courses.
ICCOC online courses have a section number starting with a ‘C’ such as BIO-102-C001.
Canvas is a new online learning management system that NIACC will be using starting in May of 2016. There a few ‘pilot’ courses that will be using Canvas Spring semester, but most students will not have access until the full implementation starts for May, June and Fall semester classes.
