Career Counseling

One-on-one career counseling is available to assist students in making decisions about their college major and future career direction.

Students can make an appointment with Ann Beasley, NIACC Career Counselor, by calling 641-422-4270 or 1-888-GO NIACC, ext. 4270 or stop at the Student Services Office in the Administration Building.

In career counseling various assessments may be used to help students learn about their interests, personality preferences, values, and aptitudes and how they relate to their choice of college major and future career direction.

NIACC also offers a computerized assessment tool called Discover. This Internet based program is a user-friendly computerized career guidance program available to NIACC students and Alumni. To access this program, students need a Discover user ID which is available by contacting the Student Services Office in AB104.

Counselors also offer free Discover workshops on the NIACC campus. Call 641-422-4358 or 1-888-GO NIACC, ext. 4358 for information on dates, times and registration.
