Forwarding Email from I-Mail
The
college has designated the NIACC designated mail address as the official
means of communication for college business for CURRENTLY REGISTERED
students. Student email accounts are normally available within 24 hours
after registration.
Note: If
you are not currently registered for classes, you will not have an active
IMail account.
TO ACCESS YOUR EMAIL THROUGH YOUR IMAIL
ACCOUNT

Note to
AOL Users: You must use either Netscape or
Internet Explorer to access your student email.
TO FIND OUT WHAT YOUR IMAIL ADDRESS IS
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
All student usernames have
been created utilizing the following algorithm:
-
first character of your
first name case,
-
first character of your
middle initial,
-
your entire last name,
-
a unique number to differentiate
duplicate names after the first three phases are calculated.
TO FIND OUT WHAT YOUR IMAIL PASSWORD IS
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
All student passwords have
been changed to a new password utilizing the following algorithm:
-
first character of your
first name in upper case,
-
first character of your
last name in lower case,
-
two dollar signs ($$),
-
the last four digits of
your Social Security Number.

HOW TO FORWARD EMAIL IN I-MAIL
Login to
the account you want forwarded. You will see the following screen.

Choose
"Change mail forwarding information" from the "Personal Account Options"
list. You will then see this screen.

Note:
If you change your e-mail account, you must go
back to IMail and change the forwarding address. IMail will not
automatically forward to the new account.
You can
have Web Messaging automatically forward your mail to another mail
account. This feature is activated when an e-mail address is present in
this text box. (In other words, as long as this box is empty, mail is not
forwarded.) Enter a complete mail address including the user ID and the
full host name, for example, User ID@host.domain, and then press the Save
button.
Note:
You can forward your mail to more than one e-mail addresses by entering
multiple addresses separated by commas.
To keep a copy and forward a copy, precede the forwarding address by a dot
and a comma, for example, you'd enter .,User ID@host.domain to forward
mail to User ID@host.domain and keep a copy in your mailbox.
Note: Imail is Java based, so your web browser must have Java
enabled.
