The North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) women’s basketball team will host its Second Annual Think Pink event on Saturday, February 15th. The Trojans will host Northeast Community College 1:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00 (free for cancer survivors).
The Think Pink game is an annual fundraising event associated with raising money for breast cancer awareness. All of the proceeds will stay local and will be donated to Mercy Center for Breast Health (a department of Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa). The funds will be used for un-insured and underinsured women in North Iowa for breast health imaging including screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, and biopsies.
The community can support this cause in several ways:
• Attend the basketball game.
• Purchase Think Pink t-shirts: T-shirts are $10 (Youth Medium, Youth Large, Adult Small, Medium, Large, XL, XXL) Shirts can be ordered by contacting NIACC Women’s Basketball Coach Kelli Terrell at email@example.com Any remaining shirts will be sold at the door of the match. Ordering deadline is Tuesday, February 11th.
There will also be a bake sale with an assortment of home-made goodies. Free will donation.
“We are very excited to remain a partner with Mercy Breast Health of North Iowa. Keeping our funds local has a direct benefit on the community that has been supporting us all season long. It’s also a great experience for the individuals on our team to be involved and see how their efforts can make an impact in the fight against cancer.”
For more information, the public may contact Kelli Terrell, NIACC Women’s Basketball Head Coach at 641-422-4316 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The 2014 Think Pink event is sponsored by NSB Bank and North Iowa Fire. Also sponsoring this year’s event is Kum & Go, Fairway Outdoor Advertising, Kevin Dolphin CPA, Mason City Chiropractic, Fullerton Funeral Home, Pita Pit, CrossFit Chiron of Mason City, and Deckers Sports.
