North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) is making plans for the annual Homecoming celebration.
Homecoming events are scheduled for Thursday September 18- Sunday September 21 and will include a variety of fun activities for students throughout the week. The Homecoming theme is “Fields of Fun,” which culminates with a community celebration at the NIACC campus on Saturday September 20. That day will be filled with a variety of events and activities for people of all ages (see schedule below).
“We invite everyone to come out and enjoy this day of free activities and entertainment,” said Terri Ewers, Vice President for Student Services at NIACC. “This is a perfect chance for people to come visit the beautiful NIACC campus, see some of the progress taking place and enjoy a free day of activities.”
NIACC Homecoming activities include:
• Thursday September 18, Friday September 19. Music Man in Concert. Both shows begin at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. This concert features Shirley Jones as the host, her son Patrick Cassidy as Harold Hill, a 15 piece orchestra on stage with 22 singers and dancers. Tickets are available by calling the NIACC Box Office at 641-422-4188.
• Saturday September 20 (Most events can be found in or in front of the Activity Center):
o 9:00 a.m. Robert’s Run (check in begins at 7:45) You can register online at: www.robertsrun.com/
o 10:00 a.m. Athletic team inter-squad scrimmages, live music, family fun, hayrack rides, campus and farm tours, kid bounce houses, balloon artists, sand art and alumni volleyball scrimmage (gym doors will open at 9:00 a.m.)
o 11:00 a.m. Free lunch (Activity Center)
o Noon Magician Ran’D Shine (Activity Center)
o 1:00 p.m. Homecoming Main Event: NIACC Soccer vs Iowa Lakes
Homecoming Coronation: King and Queen
• Sunday September 21:
o 1:00 p.m. Volleyball Triangular with Waldorf & Gustavus (NIACC gym)
