The North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) Performing Arts and Leadership Series invites you to “Be Our Guest” for the Preview of the 2015 – 2016 season. An exciting lineup of entertainment and speakers coming to North Iowa will be announced on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 7 p.m. in the North Iowa Community Auditorium. There is no cost to attend. The Preview includes performances by members of the Mason City High School Choir, the NIACC Singers, and local musicians. The schedule for the 2015 – 16 series will include comedy, country artists, Broadway, dance, pop artists, and much more.
This year’s series includes many new additions. A family series has been enhanced that includes top-rated children’s programing and storybook characters. A Literature to Life series for North Iowa schools will bring award-winning children’s literature to life for children and an important project that explores the consequences of cyber bullying. Over 6000 area students can participate for “a-buck-a-kid” with underwriting from area foundations, businesses, and Friends of the Series.
The Leadership Series announces that one of this year’s speakers will be part of a Common Read for all NIACC freshmen and the North Iowa community. The book entitled Wine to Water by Doc Hendley has been selected by NIACC faculty and staff members. The College invites all of North Iowa to read along and be part of the Common Read. The author will visit Mason City in the fall. Come to the Preview to learn more.
This will be the first time the NIACC Performing Arts and Leadership Series will announce their series live from the stage. “It will be exciting to experience our patrons’ reactions as the lineup is announced. I am thrilled about this season, and I believe it is one of the best lineups ever,” said Elizabeth Gales, Director of NIACC Performing Arts and Leadership Series.
Those who attend this event will be given a one-night additional 10 or 15 percent discount subject to the number of shows purchased. This is the time to buy your package and secure the best seats.
Season Ticket holders are invited to a champagne and dessert reception at 6:30 p.m. prior to the announcement.
