ASSISTANT YOUTH DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Job Responsibilities: The Assistant Youth Development Director is responsible for the supervision of all children. They assist the Director in planning, leadership and record keeping. They share responsibility for making sure the site meets all YMCA, state and county licensing requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serve as the person in charge in the absence of a Director.
2. Assist the director in planning Summer Camp.
3. May serve in the capacity of a Youth Counselor to meet ratios.
4. Assist the Director in the day to day operation of the program.
7. Engage children by facilitating program activities that are designed to enrich their lives.
8. Use positive reinforcement to encourage appropriate behavior. Document and communicate inappropriate behavior following our disciplinary procedures.
9. Cultivate relationships by establishing a positive rapport with children, parents, volunteers, staff and school personnel.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. A degree in a child-related field is preferred.
Work Experience: Previous child care and supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
Physical: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to stand, remain outdoors and maintain continual physical endurance for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, watch, listen, and facilitate group activities.
Mental: Must be mentally alert and be able to process and follow directions.
Pay Range: $14/hr
