Job Responsibilities: The City of Mason City is taking applications for a part-time Custodian II at the Mason City Public Library. This position will be responsible for a variety of routine cleaning and maintenance of the library building and grounds.
Shift: Afternoon hours, Monday – Thursday and every other Friday & Saturday. 9:00am – 5:00pm. 25 hrs/week.
Duties/Responsibilities
*Assists with maintaining the library physical plant, including conducting minor building repairs and maintenance, painting, and changing light bulbs and filters.
*Assists with overall custodial care of the library, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the building and grounds.
*Responsible for keeping sidewalks and ramps cleared of snow and ice during winter months.
*May assist with open and close and lock and unlock facilities as needed. Assists with the setup of meeting rooms for use by the public, city council and other groups.
*Assist with basic cleaning and maintenance of interior and exterior library facilities/grounds as directed by Library management staff, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying trash cans, pick up litter from around the building, parking areas and grounds, cleaning spills, cleans and sanitizes restrooms, shampooing and steam cleaning carpets/furniture, mowing, lawn maintenance, snow removal and sanding.
