Job Responsibilities: The City of Mason City is taking applications for a part-time Library Clerk at the Mason City Public Library. This position will perform a variety of routine clerical work in the operation of public services in a part time role.

Work Hours
– Monday – Thursday: 3pm – 7pm
– Every Other Friday: 11am – 3pm
– Every Other Saturday: 9am – 5pm

– Works in assigned area of library operations to achieve goals within available resources. Shelves, straightens, and organizes the library’s collections.
– Works assigned shifts at the public service desk in the main department, Commons area or in the youth service areas.
– Circulates library materials: check out, check in, place holds, collects fines and fees.
– Helps library users’ understand the library’s automated catalog.
– Enters patrons into Internet computers and patron database.
– Helps library users understand and use the library’s collections.
– Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties such as answering telephones and straightening shelves and assists in creating and implementing bulletin boards, displays, and programs.
– May be assigned to assist in the cataloging department or the history department.
– Assists staff in the performance of their duties as required.
