According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “overall STEM occupations are projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations. And wages in these occupations are generally higher than the median for all occupations.” STEM professionals continue to be in high demand and businesses across the country find it difficult to recruit qualified STEM employees into their workforce.
To compete for 21st century jobs, you need an education with a solid grounding in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. NIACC will provide you with strong academic programs in STEM, as well as many opportunities to get hands-on experience both in and out of the classroom.
In the fall of 2018, our brand new, state-of-the-art STEM wing will open. The facility will feature spacious, flexible classrooms, innovative laboratories, and emphasize connectivity between spaces. A sandbox classroom will create an environment for flexible learning with tables and chairs that fold up and tables that function as a whiteboards. The faculty office suites will also feature collaborative spaces for students to hang out, study, and work with peers and instructors. It’s a great time to be a STEM student at NIACC!
