Graduation is almost here! Some graduates are planning to transfer to different universities, and others will be heading into careers right off the bat. To get a job, you need to focus on doing well at interviewing.

Interviewing is very important for the employer to consider you as a future employee. Be prepared for their questions, and market yourself. Show that you are the best for the job.

As mentioned before, you need to market yourself. When the employer asks you to tell them about yourself, be prepared. Don’t talk about every little detail about yourself; talk about your characteristics.

Are you hardworking? Are you trustworthy? Are you caring? The list can go on and on, but remember give examples of why you describe yourself that way. Make it memorable; make sure you stand out from the others, in a good way of course! Give interviewers something you can offer to their business!

When you prepare for questions, look up some sample questions online. Have someone ask you the questions in a mock interview. This will help you feel more prepared, and you won’t be as nervous when you are in the actual setting.

Before the interview, dress for the part. It’s recommended to wear a dress shirt and dress pants, and of course, nice shoes. You can’t go wrong with that! Make sure to have good hygiene, and your hair needs to look nice. Being presentable is highly important for the employer to even consider you for the job.

Always remember to be prepared, even if it means having someone help you with a mock interview. Be presentable when you walk in. You also need to remember to market yourself, show that you are the best fit for the job. When you are done with your interview, shake the interviewer’s hand and thank them for the interview. You can’t go wrong with courtesy! Good luck on your future!
