Jump for Joy Over FREE Healthcare Courses

North Iowans are jumping for joy – literally – over the FREE healthcare courses offered at NIACC.

The Jump for Joy program allows students to enroll at no charge in the following programs: Nurse Aide, Phlebotomy, Medication Manager, and Emergency Medical Technician.

The curriculum is part of an initiative to increase training for high-demand careers.  By offering short-term certificates for these programs, students are fast-tracked right into the workplace.  The goal is to get people trained and into the workforce quickly.  They get in, get out, and get a job.

I don’t know about you, but that would have me jumping for joy, too!

As the workforce in our region continues to shrink, the need for healthcare services has grown significantly.  Our population is aging, putting a strain on the healthcare system.  NIACC is committed to building a pipeline to ensure the general public has the medical services they need for years to come.

Spring 2023 CNA Courses:

  • March 9 – May 4 | Forest City
  • March 16 – May 1 | NIACC Campus
  • May 15 – August 9 | NIACC Campus | Evening/Hybrid
  • May 15 – June 16 | Forest City
  • May 15 – July 31 | Forest City | Evenings

Registration Deadlines are two weeks prior to each start date.

Each course offered within this program is designed for entry-level healthcare career jobs.  NIACC instructors will utilize a combination of classroom learning and clinical/lab time, so students are well prepared to enter directly into the workforce.

NIACC Director of Education to Employment, Molly Anderegg, is excited for potential students.  NIACC has worked hand-in-hand with employers in North Central Iowa, in hopes they find the perfect fit to fill their needs with trained individuals.

“The concept behind this free healthcare initiative is to help individuals obtain job-specific skills so they can start on a career.  In a short amount of time, they will get some training, get a job, and increase their earning potential,” Anderegg stated.

Education to Employment is a service designed to help students be successful in their journey to quickly learn something new and get a job.  Their Pathway Navigators work directly with students to identify and overcome barriers.  They connect students with the resources they need from enrollment to employment, providing a helping hand every step of the way.

The best part?  It doesn’t have to end there!

Once in the field, students often realize how much they enjoy this line of work and decide on more training.  If that is the case, they can easily return to NIACC and seek a one-year diploma or two-year degree in one of a variety of healthcare career diploma programs

If you’re ready to start jumping for joy like so many others, get signed up now.

The medical field is in high demand for qualified workers looking to get started in North Iowa.  Now is the perfect time to get your training done and get on the fast track to employment.
