Kit Byars was a standout volleyball player in high school at Lake Mills.
In the summer of 2022, Byars headed to Fort Sill in Oklahoma for basic training after enlisting in the Iowa Army National Guard.
After some time away from the sport of volleyball, Byars realized that she still had the itch to play competitively.
She connected with NIACC volleyball coach Chris Brandt, joined the Trojan volleyball squad and was the team’s leading blocker in the 2023 season.
