NIACC Discover Day helps eighth graders explore future careers

Discover Day, a career exploration event offered to area eighth graders, was held on the NIACC campus on Thursday, May 12 .

The event provided students an opportunity to examine their interests and connect them to actual career opportunities that await them here in North Iowa.

NIACC Enrollment Advisor Anne Boyer said, “Many young people are searching for the career of their future without grasping how we all found our careers – by understanding our interests and how they relate to careers and by meeting local professionals who can help mentor and expose us to potential careers we may not have known even existed.”  Boyer coordinated the event.

More than 850 students toured the campus while taking mini-courses along the way.
