North Iowa Area Community College requires placement test results to determine your readiness for college-level courses. Placement test are used to evaluate a students’ reading, writing and math skills.
Students do not receive a “passing” or “failing” grade for placement tests. Placement tests are a great first step into college and can help you begin your successful educational journey by identifying your academic strengths and needs.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, please contact the NIACC Testing Center for any placement testing questions. Testing requirements have changed due to the limited access to testing facilities.
- NIACC does not have a minimum score requirement to be accepted and enroll.
- Assessment scores are valid for three years.

A photo ID will be required for any testing. A NIACC issued ID, driver’s license any government issued photo ID will be accepted.
