Job Responsibilities: Join our team as a part-time Mall Maintenance/Security Worker, a vital role dedicated to the upkeep and safety of our mall. This part-time position performs a combination of maintenance and custodial tasks to keep the Mall buildings and grounds clean and functional. You will also periodically serve as a Mall Security Guard to perform patrols, assist customers, and respond to emergencies to ensure public safety and order.

Hours & Schedule: This is a part-time position offering up to 28 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work a Saturday shift as part of their weekly schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
– Daily inspection of Mall interior and grounds for litter removal and cleaning needs. May open and close the building as necessary. May assist with the setup and removal of equipment for special events.
– Performs routine cleaning and custodial care of the Mall, including daily cleaning of bathrooms, trash removal, cleaning of floors, and other areas under the control of the Mall Manager.
– Responsible for routine building repairs when possible, and identifying potentially dangerous building issues.
– Performs snow removal and sanding of entrances and exterior walkways as necessary.
– Communicate to the Mall Maintenance/Security Supervisor the need to order supplies and equipment needed, and to keep materials and equipment maintained and in working order.
– Patrolling and monitoring premises to detect any irregularities, which may include suspicious behavior or security breaches.
– Provides emergency response including contacting the fire department or law enforcement if required.
– Removing or restraining anyone who threatens the safety within the mall or disturbs the peace. Keeping calm when alarms are triggered and escorting people to safety or apprehending suspected offenders.
– Assisting during emergencies, ensuring minimal injury to people and damage to property.
– May wear security uniform as needed.
– Document maintenance and security records as directed, and provides suggestions for building and security improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:
– High School diploma or GED
– Must be at least 18 years of age.
– Previous building maintenance and cleaning experience is desired. Previous security experience would be beneficial.
Special Requirements:
– No felony convictions or other disqualifying criminal or civil record.
– Undertaking all tasks with the utmost integrity and professionalism.
