BUS-eum Tour: The BUS-eum exhibit will be at NIACC on Monday, November 9th from 4:30-7:30PM in front of the Activity Center.

  • The bus is open for tours from 4:30PM-7:30PM.
  • Presentations will take place from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Beem Center Room 200.

Unique to this area, up to four local author-historians will speak about their special subjects. Retired educator Pat Schultz will celebrate “amazing women in North Iowa history;” retired NIACC English instructor Geri Schwarz will speak about growing up in the Cerro Gordo County of the 1940s; Osage resident Margaret Smolik will reflect on arriving in Northeast Iowa in 1952 with her family of “displaced persons” fleeing communist Croatia; Dennis Wilson will talk about the “orphan trains” that brought countless young people to the area in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
