Smart Start

Smart Start is a College Transition Program That Will Give You the Skills to Succeed at the Next Step in Your Education. Smart Start is for HSED/High School Graduates who are dislocated workers, unemployed workers or under-employed workers.

Through the Smart Start program you will:

    • Boost  your Reading, Writing, and Math skills
    • Develop college level study skills
    • Improve your Computer and Keyboarding skills
    • Focus your college and career goals

To be eligible you must be planning to enroll at NIACC the following semester. Smart Start is sponsored By NIACC Learning Support Division

Smart Start orientation begins now or until course limit is reached, with individual times that can be set to fit your schedule. Classes are limited to a maximum of 15 students. There is no fee. An Assessment will be given during Orientation to ensure your skills meet Smart Start criteria.
