The NIACC John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is proud to welcome Dr. Tom Moore as the Director of Innovation and Acceleration. Dr. Moore will be responsible for providing business consulting to start-up companies and existing small businesses in all phases of business who are in need of funding, management and operational expertise to improve their chances of success. He will also be delivering and leading programs to improve the region’s culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem through partnerships and collaboration.
Dr. Moore comes to NIACC with thirty-plus years of business and industry experience, including owning several successful consulting firms. Dr. Moore’s expertise includes strategic planning, organization design and development, business acumen, leadership development, and operations management.
He and his wife Merri have recently moved to Charles City. Dr. Moore has a son attending Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA, and a daughter who is attending DePaul University, in Chicago, Il.
Since 2009, Dr. Moore has owned and been the principal consultant for two consulting firms focused on helping clients in both private and public sectors find the synergies between outstanding leadership and enterprise excellence. In 2020, Dr. Moore expanded his reach by opening a coaching firm offering goal-focused coaching for mid to senior-level organizational leaders. Dr. Moore has helped clients throughout the US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Dr. Moore has a Ph.D. in Human Organizational Systems, MA in Organizational Management and Development, and BS in Education, Training, and Development. He is a Lean Enterprise Sensei and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt. As a scholar-practitioner, Dr. Moore is passionate about helping entrepreneurs and business leaders in North Iowa realize their vision.
The NIACC John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is the expert in rural business innovation and success. In partnership with North Iowa’s Small Business Development Center, together we provide tools, support, and resources to Iowa’s entrepreneurs. We counsel both new and existing local businesses, from Main Street to industry leaders.
