Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, performs analytical procedures designed to aid physicians in diagnosing disease and monitoring current patient status. Provides generalized and specialized professional laboratory skills in caring for neonatal through geriatric patients in the Laboratory and Blood Bank. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care.
Required Qualifications:
Graduation from a program with an Associate Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science Program (Medical Lab Tech).
Surgical Technologist – Ames
-Scrubs, gowns and gloves utilizing sterile technique before surgery
-Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure
-Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants
-Helps in draping sterile field
-Passes instruments, etc., to surgeon during procedure
-Prepares sterile dressings
-Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
Required Qualifications (Including any licensure, certification, education):
-Graduation from a Surgical Technology Program.
Respiratory Therapist – Ames
Under general supervision, performs routine and intensive respiratory care treatment, diagnostic testing, manages routine and critical care equipment, provides patient education and care planning, and assists with discharge planning for patient neonatal through geriatric. Key member of critical care response teams.
Required Qualifications:
-Complete Respiratory Therapy Program
-Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree
-Successfully complete registry level credentialing examinations offered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
-Must be licensed as Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Iowa Department of Public Health.
Radiologic Technologist – Ames
Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care. Under general supervision, performs a variety of technical work in taking radiographs of patients for diagnostic purposes. Required Qualifications:
-Completion of a 24-month American Medical Association approved course in Radiologic Technology.
-Possession of certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
-Possession of current Iowa Permit to Practice.
