Applying for financial aid is a simple process that can help ease the pressure of paying for college. In order for NIACC to determine any financial aid you may qualify for you must complete the following items located on the checklist below. Once you have completed each item on the checklist NIACC will be able to calculate your qualifying aid to help you pay for your academic journey.
Financial Aid Checklist

Follow these steps to ensure you receive the financial assistance you need:
- Complete the FAFSA: Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov.
- The FAFSA becomes available October 1 for each academic year.
- Include NIACC’s school code: 001877.
- Once submitted, schools you listed will receive your information and contact you.
- Apply for Scholarships: Complete the NIACC Foundation Scholarship Application before the March 1 priority date to be considered for scholarships that can help pay for your education.
- Respond to Requests: After NIACC receives your FAFSA, you may be asked for additional information.
- Review any letters or notifications carefully.
- Submit requested documents promptly to the NIACC Financial Aid Office.
- Review Your Aid Offer: Once your eligibility is determined, you’ll receive a financial aid offer.
- Log in to TrojanHome and go to the “My Financial Aid Offer” tab.
- Accept or decline the aid you wish to use.
- Complete Loan Requirements: If you’re borrowing student loans for the first time:
- Complete Entrance Counseling and the Master Promissory Note at https://studentaid.gov.
- These steps are required before loan funds can be disbursed.
