Financial Aid
The NIACC Financial Aid Office assists all students that need financial assistance in meeting their educational goals. Our staff is available to help you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), answer questions regarding eligibility, assist you in applying for scholarships, process your loan request and help answer any other questions you may have.

What does this mean?
Your financial aid is based on the number of credits you are enrolled in as of this date. Adding or dropping classes after this date will not change your aid eligibility.
First-time Loan Borrower – First Disbursement: 2/18/26
Second Half of Spring-Only Loans Disbursed: 3/18/26
How to Check when Aid is Applied
Students can view when financial aid is applied to their account by checking Account Activity in their TrojanHome Portal.
Note: Aid is not applied at the same time for all students.
Financial Aid Refund Checks
If your financial aid exceeds your charges:
- You will receive an email at your NIACC email address when a refund check is ready.
- Refund checks can be picked up at the NIACC Business Office.
- Bring a photo I.D. to pick up your check.
