Job Responsibilities: JOB SUMMARY
The Certified Nurse Aide performs routine and general nurse aide functions on the patient care unit.
This position reports to the Nursing Supervisor and is responsible for Certified Nurse Aide duties on the Med/Surg unit.
Administer treatment and personal care procedures to patients including, but not limited to, feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothing, cleaning and trimming fingernails, bed-making, assisting with ambulation, skin care, and bowel and bladder elimination; provide such additional care as required to meet the personal needs and comfort of assigned patients.
Perform a variety of selected patient care tasks under the direction of an RN/LPN to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment and care of patients.
Obtain and record patient data for medical records noting any significant changes in the patient’s condition.
Clean assigned area: stock and replenish supplies and equipment as required.
Shifts: Sunday-Saturday, days, evenings, nights, primarily nights; The determination of the daily and weekly work schedules shall be made by the PHO.
Position Qualifications
BLS/CPR Certification
High School graduate or GED preferred.
Completion of Certified Nurse Aide course and certification required. Must be active on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registration.
Previous hospital nurse aide experience preferred.
Must have basic computer skills.
