“I was a foreign exchange student in Sheffield, Iowa three years ago and that’s when I fell in love with Iowa. I wanted to come back and study here so I decided to go to NIACC first because it is a small campus. The people are so friendly and open minded. The instructors and all the staff is very nice and helpful and always try to help if you have a problem.”
Katharina, Austria
“NIACC was rated as the 14th best Community College and it is much affordable than other colleges.”
Keisuke, Japan

“DO IT!! Don’t have any doubt about it. NIACC is the perfect community college to get used to college and gets you ready to move to a bigger campus.”
Katharina, Austria
“It is a fun community college to study at! The administration is approachable and entertain my questions about school. Best way to start before you proceed to a university!”

“A really friendly place with a lot of opportunities to grow, cold in the winter so bring warm clothes and prepare to be amazed!”
Dennis, Sweden
“You should definitely join some clubs so you meet people and find friends and also be open minded, don’t be scared or shy, no one will bite you. They love international students here and the people in Iowa are generally nice and friendly.”
Katharina, Austria
“Don’t be a stranger. Talk to everybody, be involved and you will be very happy!”
Raphael, Brazil
“The people and the opportunity you have here. It is so much easier to achieve your dreams and people don’t judge you if you are different, they accept everybody. I think it is awesome how you can start a conversation with a stranger at any time. But to be honest the food is delicious too and a reason why I would choose Iowa is the corn, trust me, it is amazing!”
Katharina, Austria
“The diversity of people you have here in the USA and also how friendly the Iowans are here in Mason City. I have always been greeted with friendly faces and haven’t been turned down for getting help when I ask for it.”
Dennis, Sweden
“Diversity. I have already met more people from different countries since I have been at NIACC, than I have met in my whole life in Japan.”
Keisuke, Japan
“It is everything I ever expected. My father works for an American Company, my sister studied in Kansas as an exchange student 10 years ago, so I grew up listening to all kinds of things about the USA. My mother has always loved American culture. It’s been wonderful being here.”
Raphael, Brazil
“Watching movies about the United States it is exactly what I expected. It is just an incredible feeling to be around Americans and see how they live. There is always something to do so you never get bored.”
