The American Heart Association has developed Instructor Course materials that will aid in providing quality and consistent instructor training.  The course will prepare candidates to disseminate the science and philosophy of resuscitation programs to participants enrolled in AHA courses.

Pre-course requirements for Instructor Candidates:  Interview and be accepted by an AHA Training Center; Complete an Instructor Candidate Application; Have current provider status for at least 2 years and be proficient in all skills. Complete Instructor Essentials on-line course. American Heart Association Instructor Renewal Course

This course is designed to recertify current AHA Instructors to teach courses using the program DVD and lesson maps according to the standards established by the AHA. Revised and updated ECC and Training Center information will be disseminated and provider skills will be renewed.

Course requirements the day of class:  present expired Instructor Card; submit completed Teaching Renewal Checklist; submit Instructor Monitor Form for previous two years.  Registration deadline: one week prior to class. Class size limit: 6
