Continuing Education Contact Hours
The contact point for registration for all continuing education programs, including questions regarding these programs, is North Iowa Area Community College, 1-888-GO-NIACC, ext. 4358.
Continuing education contact hours will be awarded on the basis of actual presence and attendance and on satisfactory completion of the program. Participants need to be present for the entirety of the program to receive a Certificate of Completion and continuing education credit. Each participant will be responsible for picking up their certificate at the end of the program. If successful completion of final test is a requirement for course completion, the certificate will be mailed to the participant.
Continuing education credits will be awarded to those identified under the “CE/CEH/CME” section of each program.
The certificate of attendance may be used to report contact hours for continuing education credit, if relevant, for the following audiences:
Dietetics, Mortuary Science, Nursing Home Administration, Physical & Occupational Therapy, Behavioral Science, Psychologists, Massage Therapists, Dentists, Dental Assistants/Hygienists, Respiratory Therapists, Speech Pathologists/Audiologist, Social Workers.
The participant is to retain the certificate and program materials for the duration of the licensing period in case of audit. Participants continue to be responsible for attaining program CEH validation for their appropriate credentialing agency.
Nurses must keep certificates for four (4) years. This is the period of time the Iowa Board of Nursing can audit individual records.
Duplicate certificates are available through the Continuing Education Department at NIACC for the cost of $10 per certificate.
